How many charms fit in a Memory Locket?

Memory Lockets are available in different sizes and shapes. The charms have different sizes. It is also very important whether you place a coin in your Memory Locket. If you want to be able to read the text on the coin you can fit a less amount of charms in it. It is impossible to mention a precise number. We have therefore made a table below with guide numbers per size / shape. Furthermore, with a few charms, such as the photo charms, there is an additional instruction. In addition to the number of named charms, you can often add 2 to 4 birthstones or a set of pearls in the locket, because they take up much less space than the charms.

What is the difference between a Twist Memory Locket and a Memory Locket with Magnetic closure?

With a ‘Twist’ Memory Locket, turn off the top half of the bottom half. A Memory Locket with magnetic closure has a hinge and opens up.
The advantage of a Twist Memory Locket is that it can not pop open when you hit the Memory Locket hard against something. The disadvantage is that you can not easily exchange the charms as with a Memory locket with stomach closure. It is also important to know that you can not use the memory locket with magnetic closure if you have a Pacemaker.

  • In a round medallion of 30mm fits a round coin of 22mm, a half bow of 22mm or a ring of 22mm
  • A round coin of 16mm fits in a round medallion of 25mm
  • In a drop medallion a round coin of 22mm fits or the plate ‘Arrow’
  • A heart coin of 22mm fits in a heart medallion of 30mm
  • In the other medallions (pay attention to the smaller sizes) no coins fit!

The medallions of stainless steel / stainless steel remain beautiful for much longer than those of metal (alloy). For example, they will not discolour due to contact with the skin or other elements. Furthermore, the quality of the stainless steel products is better and the finish is also a lot nicer. Often the Memory Lockets, where it is not explicitly stated that they are made of stainless steel / stainless steel, are made of metal (alloy). Of course we always recommend to choose the stainless steel medallions and chains. Especially if you intend to wear the medallion on the skin or if you use cosmetics that can come into contact with the medallion.

Which chain-length should I choose?

You can wear the Memory Locket with both a long or short chain. Do you wear the Memory Locket with a short chain? Then choose a stainless steel medallion. On the picture below you will get an impression of the required length of the chain.
